Russian paratroopers arrive in Kazakhstan as unrest continues

Russian paratroopers have arrived in Kazakhstan as part of a “peacekeeping” mission by a Moscow-led military alliance to help the president regain control of the country, according to Russian news agencies.

Kazakhstan’s president, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, asked for the intervention from the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) – an alliance made up of Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan – late on Wednesday and it was swiftly approved.

It comes as violent clashes continue between protesters and the police and army in Kazakhstan.

There is little reliable information on the number of casualties, but local news agencies quoted a spokesperson for police in Almaty, the country’s largest city, saying dozens of people were killed during attacks on government buildings.

Almaty city authorities said on Thursday that 353 police and security forces personnel had been injured, and 12 killed.

On Thursday morning, shots were fired as troops entered Almaty’s main square. Several armoured personnel carriers and dozens of troops moving on foot arrived on Thursday morning, with shots heard as they approached the crowd, Reuters witnesses said.

Could be the beginning of an insurrection.

Someone needs to show Biden what the real insurrection looks like.

Exactly. Byedone and his cronies are the real insurrectionists.

Closer to Czechoslovakia on the night of August 20, 1968 which took the US by surprise because it lost track of 2 Russian Armies.

As much as an evil guy the MSM portrays Putin as, I believe that he’s keeping the lid on the world’s perpetual dumpster fire.

Too bad we couldn’t have called them in for the 2020 riots.

Spoiled rich kids riot in Portland because their life is too easy and they know nothing bad will happen to them after rioting. Things these little stupid f***s want - communism - they know they can’t get through voting.

People of Kazakhstan are tired of being poor and living hard life. For 29 years they had their dictator Nazarbayev. In 2019 he stepped back and appointed a successor who promised economic reforms, but didn’t actually do it.

Kazakhs see that people in other countries live so much better than them and they, despite their massive oil resources, live in deep poverty. They have been getting killed by dozens and injured or imprisoned by hundreds and still they go out there.

Shorter version:

People in Kazakhstan riot and demand a right to vote and are angry about being poor and having a hard life. They are killed for it.

Portland dumb kids are bored from their easy life and riot because they can’t get their communism through voting. They’re absolutely safe and not even charged for the damage they cause.

My wife lived in Czechoslovakia and remembers that night. She remembers being in a small village and there was just one tank and one soldier standing guard who was there presumably to project the image of control.

It wasn’t long after that when her mother and father got permission to go visit relatives in West Germany. They only had what they wore and enough extra clothes to appear as if only a visit was planned and they would return. They left everything else and lost it. For a long while she and they considered they did the right thing. But lately, she’s been thinking that maybe it wasn’t. She’s been back there a few times visiting over the years and the way things turned out appear to be much better than what’s going on here.

What’s going on in America is the other end of the stick. Too much prosperity makes people stupid and they invent causes to struggle for because that’s what we humans are like.

Our psyche doesn’t easily deal with the recently achieved extreme prosperity. I believe we’ll figure it out, but until that happens it will cause some trouble.

Marines arrive in Nicaragua as unrest continues.
JFK announces blockade of Cuba, will intercept Russian ships.
US lands in Santo Domingo as unrest continues.

The US has no business, other than provocation for war, in the Russian ближнее зарубежье (near abroad) than Russia has in Mexico, or had in Cuba.
