A game changer? Why would anyone take a vaccine for a virus that has essentially mutated into the sniffles?
If nothing else, it would provide an “out” for those of us unwilling to take the mRNA shots.
If there were an effective vaccine for the common cold, I'm sure that millions would take it.
This: “The real beauty of the CORBEVAX vaccine that Drs. Hotez and Bottazzi created is that intellectual property of this vaccine will be available to everybody,” Our government bankrolled the vaccine development, yet the recipe remains a secret so the companies can make more money.
Early treatment, not more jabs.
It still has the spike protein which causes damage. No thx. A hard pass.
I really hope that this is true. However, given NPR’s total failure rate on everything from politics to COVID to education to climate change to (insert the other 1,346 examples here), I’m not betting on it.
The wife’s parents are still naive enough to listen to NPR and we spend a considerable time reorienting them to real news with real facts. So far, they’ve reluctently admitted that our score is way better than NPR’s.
Just in case there are some of those original Coof buggers still out there floating around, some of us pureblood, overwieght, high BP, COPD septagenarians might be inclined to accept a TRUE vaccine instead of the clot shot.
How does this differ from the Novavax vaccine?
It’s still injecting you with a spike protein, which is possibly if not likely the most dangerous part of Covid. Along with being injected with no telling what else.
That team may be in Texas, but their leader is an MSNBC regular guest, and even says Biden is not doing enough to force vaccines on people.
If that’s the kind of stuff you’re interested in, then by all means, roll up your sleeves. You’ll find no shortage of people eager to shoot you up with this one too, eventually.
Does anyone know how much Jonas Salk charged for this polio vaccine?
Translation: It won’t be approved by the FDA for fear of hurting Pfizer’s bottom line.

It cost my folks their signature on a permission slip when I was in the fourth grade.
We cannot comply our way out of this. This is a revolutionary political attack, not a disease. No injection will ever cause them to declare “everything over” and that we can go back to normal.
Agreed. I would take this one. Nurse here.
“Hotez says they tried to interest government officials in the vaccine, but they weren’t impressed.”
“”And it’s cheap, a dollar, dollar fifty a dose,” Hotez says. “You’re not going to get less expensive than that.”
I’d say the second quote explains the first.
Yup. And notice how they separated the two.
There are some veterinary coronavirus vaccines that work in certain animals. But they work far less in pigs and chickens because their coronaviruses mutate too rapidly. Unfortunately, the human c-virus is acting like the virus in pigs and chickens.
We’ll see.
