The average proportion of COVID-19 tests in Maryland which are coming back positive, 28.56%, is higher than at any point during the coronavirus pandemic, the state health department reported Wednesday...
Hospitals are caring for some 3,118 coronavirus patients, after eclipsing 3,000 Tuesday for the first time throughout the pandemic, according to the health department.
Hogan, speaking at the top of the Board of Public Works meeting Wednesday morning, said that data from the University of Maryland Medical System found that 74% of its COVID-19 patients over the last 30 days were not vaccinated, while 24% had completed a two-dose course or gotten the single-shot inoculation.
About 2% of the patients hospitalized over that time frame had gotten their booster shot...
Some 88.5% of recent coronavirus samples sent for further lab analysis were found to be the omicron variant, Hogan said. And of the samples of patients who were hospitalized, about 91% were determined to be omicron, he said.

Keeping an eye on them...
Huge difference. Tone of article suggests that former but I have my doubts.
So obvious what it happening with the majority of these cases:
1) wake up with the sniffles
2) freak out and go get tested
3) test positive (all tests are positive)
4) Rush to hospital screaming for life
5) Hospital admits idiot, gives them tissue for runny nose, collects $$ from fed gov, sends idiot home.
Oh, please.
All. According. To. Plan.
BS!!!!!!!!!!
How are they testing for Omnicron?!?!?!?!?
The PCR test?!?!?!?
The PCR test is LIE. It CANNOT tell if you are sick or not
THIS IS NOTHING BUT A LIE.......PERIOD!!!
I recently had Omicron. How did I know? I woke up with body aches, feeling totally crappy and my head was all stuffed up. I was coughing a bit, but not much. Funny thing was no fever.
I grabbed some OJ, mixed it with water, drank it and went back to bed. I was in bed for two days. Drank plenty of water, ate plenty of soup and slept. On day three, I was fine. No testing needed.
There’s no valid test for Covid. There’s no valid test for Omicron. Seasonal illnesses denied any treatment at all if ‘diagnosed’ with an invalid Covid test will result in additional hospitalizations. I can’t believe they are firing up the old plandemic juke box again.
These establishment hospitals are the sleaziest thieves. I take it personal when they RIP OFF Uncle Sam because THAT IS MY MONEY!!
They were supposed to stop using the PCR so Bill Gates and George SOros’s new testing company would take over. I’m not making that up about Soros and Gates, the most toxic names that come to mind were supposed to replace the fake ‘pcr’ test.
It is increasing, but you also have to understand how the rate is calculated. The MD government rate is a seven-day average, not a daily tally. They also do not remove multiple testing results from the same individual. If you want the actual rate of positivity per person, check out the Johns Hopkins number.
For instance, today:
MD gov - 27.44%
JH - 5.69%
I believe this may reflect what the CDC admitted last week, that PCR testing can detect virus protein fragments from an infection up to 12 weeks prior to the test.
My (un)educated guess is that many people are sick with other common winter respiratory colds and flu, but are still getting a positive covid result, but it’s not actually SARS-CoV-2 active infection, but just cell debris from a previous infection.
Maryland finally fixed its reporting. Their daily Covid death counts are nudging up towards the Jan 2021 highs.
And you guys can put the whole with and of stuff aside. If an 85 yr old man has prostate cancer in situ, and tests Covid positive, then yes, he has the mother of all comorbidities.
But when he is still coughing and his blood oxygen level is cratering and he dies, he died OF, not with, despite the idle prostate cancer. Put that hand waving stuff to bed.
A car accident guy comes in and his blood oxygen is not falling, he tests positive, and his injuries kill him, with blood oxy showing no signs of avalanching Covid effects, then he’s not going to be listed as a Covid death. So just stop. These numbers are pretty good. And most important, they match the curves of Excess Deaths.
Lastly, when you are sequencing samples and seeing 90%+ Omicron, and your Covid death counts are ramping up, then you can put the Omicron is mild crap to bed, too.
I’m here in Maryland and it seems like half the damn state has the China Virus. But nobody seems to be dying....
My local paper had a article from a nearby Children’s Hospital begging parents to stop going to the ER of their kid has a runny nose, etc. They are swamped with minor colds or Coof cases only to send them home.
Maryland’s death count yesterday was 48, highest since January 2021. And rising.
There’s no way they’re sequencing all positive individuals.
PS You are a fear mongering coward. Hide in your basement until you die.
Stop staring at me!
Look, I know people want to protect their precious narrative of it’s no big deal. But it IS a big deal under the following conditions.
1) You’re old. Repeat. You’re old. Forget the comorbidity stuff. Nearly everyone old has one. 77% of old have hypertension. Add onto that everything else. No reason to say old plus comorbidities. Just say old.
2) The common cold will not relentlessly destroy blood oxygen level, monitored carefully in the hospital. An oldster tests positive and their blood oxygen level is cratering, they are in big trouble. It ain’t a headcold. You think it’s the common cold if you’re young. It can be raging Omicron and if you’re young you won’t know the difference. But the next old person you pass on the sidewalk you might kill.
3) Learn to study the Excess Deaths page. It’s the gold standard. And stop worrying about vax vs unvaxed. After a few months unboosted, they look the same to Omicron.
Every day, just about, you make my day.
;D
