During a press conference at Broward Health Medical Center in Ft. Lauderdale, DeSantis noted what workers at the Jackson Health System in Miami are doing, which is noting which patients with COVID-19 are there because of the pandemic and which ones are there for other reasons but happen to test positive while they are there.
"I think that’s an important distinction to make when you have a variant like omicron which is much more widespread," DeSantis said. "You are going to have people who get into a car accident and go into the emergency room. They’re swabbing everybody, and you’re going to have people that have incidental positives."
The governor said the Jackson network anticipates "about half of their COVID-positive patients within their system were not being treated for COVID," which shows that hospital case numbers alone do not tell the whole story of the pandemic.
"Looking to see who is being admitted for COVID versus who may be admitted with COVID is going to be important to really chart the severity of what we’re seeing," DeSantis said.
Meanwhile, Florida Surgeon General Joseph Ladapo stressed the need to shift the approach to testing by focusing on a strategy that "reduces the use of low-value testing and prioritizes high-value testing," meaning those that "are likely to change outcomes." This, he said, means more effort to test the elderly or immunocompromised than for asymptomatic school children.
"We’re going to be working to unwind the sort of testing psychology that our federal leadership has managed to unfortunately get most of the country in over the last two years, Ladapo said, warning that otherwise " we’re going to be sort of stuck in this same cycle."

In the title “have it” simply means testing positive on the routine admission tests. Many will not even have realized that they “had it” when admitted.
Over the years I wonder what the results would be if they tested EVERYBODY admitted (admitted for any reason) for influenza?
They get more $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ - for people admitted as “Covid” patients.

My buddy was taken to the ER on Dec 24 with an aortic rupture. He got tested and came up positive. He was as symptomatic. Still in hospital.

I would define COVID-19 to be a balance beam upon a fulcrum, and that system represents the human immune system decision, or opportunity, or inclination . . . to either a) tilt toward a NON-inflammatory response, or b) tilt toward inflammatory response (and included in that inflammatory response, how vulnerable the person is, should that response occur).
In other words, COVID-19 is a dilemma. It is affected by either of, the SARS-CoV-2 virus Spike Protein(s) and so-called “vaccine leading to ‘expressed’” Spike Protein(s).
Resistance to the effects caused by the presence of the Spike Protein(s), depends upon the immune [balance beam] system -— will it tilt in your favor (away from a cytokine storm) or against your favor (toward a cytokine storm).
Then, there is also The When of It. The tilting of the immune [balance beam] system in your favor, may last days, weeks, months, years. The tilting away from your favor, might occur at any time after the presence of the Spike Protein(s) in your body.

This is actually a hypersensitivity, allergen induced, pulmonary pneumonitis; not a pneumonia. So, it is an allergic reaction occuring deep in the lung. It does affect the vascular system and the rest, but it is typically an allergic reaction occurring in the lung. That is the reason for the speed of evolution; anaphylaxis can occur very quickly.
Now, if you compare these two conditions, COVID pneumonia [and] pulmonary hypersensitivity pneumonitis, on X-Ray and High-Definition CT, with ground glass appearance that we see, both are identical; they cannot be told apart by X-Ray or CT.
So, I think we have been mis-diagnosing COVID pneumonia, as COVID pneumonia [when] we are dealing with a hypersensitivity pneumonitis.
So, I think that the perspective took precedent, rather than any medical intervention - to understand that we are dealing with a bi-phasic illness that is non-linear. The first and second phase have no correlation between each other. The second phase can be mild-moderate to severe, and I think that the distinction of severity should start on the eighth day, rather than from the first.
A majority of patients do not have this reaction and are not at risk of having a hypersensitivity. All the mortality and morbidity in this pandemic, resides at that part of the process - so the second phase is responsible for the mortality and morbidity.
So, to put it into context, the virus is like a bee, and the sting is the allergic reaction. So, we as a planet have been busy counting bees, chasing bees, and trying to kill bees; but we have not addressed the sting.
Patients that have been stung by this, are advised to go home and isolate and wait until they deteriorate. Unfortunately, by that time, you have multi-system disorder - you have damaged your body in many ways. And of course, presenting to a hospital is a bit late; and that negates the speed and aggression with having to address this.
And of course, a majority of doctors in the hospital are unaware that you have been stung by a bee. So the appropriate method of treating it, is not available to you there . . . [end of transcripted portion]
