My point was that I don’t have the manual dexterity to operate speed loaders. As for me, I prefer a revolver. Just be packin’.
I understand. I prefer revolvers over semis, too. I have the speed loaders mainly to carry in a pouch in a loading fixture that can load better than fumbling with loose ammo. But in the end, 5 or 6 rounds needs to be enough or there’s trouble.
Years ago, I picked up a Ruger SP101 in 9mm. It was in the consignment case at a local gun shop and had an appealingly low price tag. I find loading moon-clipped ammo to be easier than using traditional speedloaders. Not as quick as slapping a fresh magazine into a semi-auto, but pretty darned close. The Ruger is a wee bit on the heavy side for everyday carry, but it’s as rugged and reliable as anything else out there.
