I trust that as the F35 starts being deployed across the EU that we won't be foolish enough to pull way back from the Russian border.

Yes the F-16 is a beautiful fighter, just like the P-51 Mustang. But at some time all good things must come to an end. To that note the F-35 is not bad looking either.
Hopefully we will never have to use it against Russia; war between NATO and Russia would be a disaster, only enabling a dominant China for perhaps centuries.
F-35s are hangar queens in the best of times.
