A significant proportion of people hospitalized with COVID-19 in recent weeks were admitted for other reasons, according to health officials and government data.
The exact scale of the phenomenon in the US is not recorded in federal statistics, but has been noted anecdotally.
And Dr. Anthony Fauci, the chief medical adviser to the White House, described the phenomenon, specifically in children, in a Wednesday night interview with MSNBC.
Since all hospital admissions are tested for COVID-19, Fauci said, many are "hospitalized with COVID, as opposed to because of COVID." The real reason for hospitalization might be "a broken leg, or appendicitis, or something like that," he continued.

One might legitimately assume that many deaths are also for “other” reasons but are attributed to Covid if they have tested positive for it.

I have a question. My understanding is that the Omicron variant has 40 mutations from Delta. The cold is a coronavirus and we don’t call it COVID-19. At what point does a virus mutate enough that you don’t even call it the same thing?
Also this is the time of the year when people are trying to get medical treatments before their health insurance deductible comes around in 2022.
There’s a boatload of money in that. Ask your local hospital administrator when she gets back from Barbados.

A significant characteristic of Omicron, is that on average, Omicron patients get out of the hospital, much faster than other variants (2-3 days).
That offsets the numbers getting admitted considerably, when calculating peak capacity.
Beds open back up much quicker.

Maybe they should have HHS walk back their scare porn public service announcements where they declared that you needed to immediately get your children jabbed or they would join the triple number of children hospitalized with Wuhan/Fauci virus since the beginning of summer. Now you can understand why they appointed a scum sucking bottom feeding lawyer to run HHS instead of a competent professional.
