I detested the “Golden Girls” show and the similar “Designing Women” crap. But Betty was a wonderful person whose greatness really took off after the death of her husband. I would say much the same thing about Dixie Carter as well. She passed about eleven years ago, was a Republican, and treated my daughter like she was supremely special when they met.
The Hollywood old timers weren’t all scumbags. Some of them were amazing people, and Betty White was one of those.
