Avanii Hazzard of Teamwork Englewood stood before dozens of leaders at a meeting in the neighborhood and implored them to dig deeper when they were discussing what the community needs in order to prevent stubborn violence.
“We’re missing a big part of the situation,” Hazzard said. “This is all reactive and none of it is proactive.”
The situation she was referring to was a fictional scenario of a teenaged mom who was angry that her baby’s father, just 17, wouldn’t provide for the child and instead was spending his money throwing himself a birthday party. The tension between the teen parents would lead to a fatal shooting, according to the the imagined setup.
The group of leaders Hazzard spoke to were from community organizations in and around Englewood, including libraries, the Chicago Housing Authority, Chicago police officers and other city and community departments, and were tasked with reading the scenario and discussing what the young people involved might need in terms of support.
There were three parts: “pre-incident” which explained the background of the situation, the “incident” when a shooting occurred, and “post-incident” or “aftermath” where they learned of the fallout and how people might be affected once the shooting happened.

Agreed but if you have grown up in a home missing a father, how do you learn to become a father? In the earlier days, perhaps grandparents modeled parental behavior but people are no longer living near grandparents that much, and some families have been missing fathers for generations now. The other resources for learning parenting comes from television. I haven’t watched television for a long time now but I wonder how many shows demonstrate positive fatherhood these days? Schools? Music? These sources no longer consider fatherhood a worthy occupation while they are busy lionizing motherhood. Religion? Too many aren’t attending and those religions that exist too often focus on climate virtues rather than familial virtues. It is a conundrum and I don’t believe it has arisen by accident. The BLM boast of disrupting the nuclear family is nothing new in revolutionary movements.

And that part will always go "missing" because the truth doesn't fit the narrative. It's black thug culture perpetuated by their own policies. All quite intentional, as the perpetuation of a violent, feral underclass is part of the Cloward-Piven strategy.
Meaningless. We know what a functioning peaceful community looks like. It’s a place where everyone (or almost everyone) does his job. Parent, policeman, councilman, pastor, teacher. No mystery. But after all the palaver reported here, no one even dared to broach the subject of societal agents enabling and requiring fathers to take responsibility for the home and family. That is the keystone to repairing the neighborhood, and no one apparently will ever talk about it.
