On the Covid Vaccines, Donald Trump is in the wrong. Change my mind
American Thinker ^ | 12/30/2021 | James E. Dyson

I begin with the obligatory statement that I enthusiastically voted for DJT twice; was a staunch supporter; and remain grateful for his achievements with the economy, foreign policy and his stance against the fake news media.

I wish to talk about COVID as it pertains to Trump. To my mind, the unconscionable overreach through lockdowns and coerced injections were immoral, unethical, un-American, and surely criminal.

Much ink and breath have been expended arguing the finer points of these matters, with some defending Trump's endorsement of lockdown and fast-tracked injections by pointing out his promotion of therapeutics, warnings against extended lockdowns, and statements that he opposes vaccine mandates.

Among the Trump faithful, I suspect that many of us vested unrealistic hope in him and now find it too disappointing to find fault in the absence of any obvious alternative champion. Expressions of disappointment in him are met with everything from reminders that he had the public health bureaucracy, D.C., and the media hysterically determined to hype the pandemic and blame him; that he mustn't alienate the normies if he is to win again next time; and that he had to expedite injections in order to break lockdowns to "he's the best we've got." All these things may be true, and we could have honest disagreements about the nuances and import of each one and many other aspects.

Yet there is one aspect that seems to me to be without nuance: the FDA approval of the "vaccines" for children.

Given that children are a cohort essentially at zero risk from COVID 19, there is no possible benefit from these injections for them.

It is therefore unethical, immoral, and probably criminal for these shots to be administered to this cohort.

THE AUTHOR STATES THIS ABOUT TRUMP's ROLE:

So far as I can discover, Donald Trump's sole utterance in the face of this has been to state that he doesn't think children need them, and only then upon being asked. If he has said more, I cannot find it, and he has ways of making statements via his website, his proxies, and interviews.

He also wants credit for the vaccines, and I believe he deserves it.

His weak-sauce response to the deliberate and pointless jeopardizing of the vulnerable and precious is, in my mind, grossly inadequate.

I agree with you. He is not pushing the vaccine on anyone. Even DeSantis has come out in favor of the vaccine.

I am so perplexed by his continued support of these “vaccines”. What I observe is that he touts them to his base, which tells me he must be completely out of touch. Most of his supporters cringe when he continues to take credit for them.

I have come to the conclusion that he was mightily fooled and used by Big Pharma and the cabal to usher in their agenda.

Trump believes they’re useful. That’s fine, I have my own opinion. He’s not trying to mandate them, which is all I expect from any politician.

DJT wants people to do their homework and make up their own minds. Because of his age, DJT personally has little to worry about long term consequences.

What is he recommending to his children, grand children and wife?

If Hillary had won in 2016 we would still be locked down. THERE WAS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE A VACCINE FOR 5 YEARS. Trump changed all that with Operation Warp Speed. So Trump saved us from 5-6 years of lock downs, and the deepest Depression known to mankind. Trump knows even if the vaccines do not work well/harm people, it is still a 1000% better situation for the country than what the Democrats had planned for YOU!

Trump also picked Pence, Sessions, and Barr. Trump has a problem with choosing the wrong people including Quack Fauci.

Don’t forget the Senate must confirm Trump’s nominees for office, and MITCH controls that process with an iron fist. If MITCH won’t give them a hearing, they can never be confirmed. Does that clear thing up for you a bit regarding Trump’s selections?

Of course there is ample proof he is wrong, however many of these idiots will turn on vaccines if he is for them, maybe is is trolling?

So, you think Mitch is the president. Got it. So much for voting for president.

Vaccines are, in general, a great plus for public health. Trump deserves an enormous amount of credit - far more than he’s gotten - for Operation Warpspeed and the development and release of the COVID-19 mRNA vaccines. Mandating that anyone get vaccinated is both a terrible idea and un-Constitutional - competent American adults have the right to decide for themselves and their children. These are Trump’s positions, and I agree with all of them.

Hate to break it to you, but DJT is no longer in office. There’s only so much he can do.

He has stated multiple times he is 100% opposed to vaccine mandates (and that would be for anyone, of any age).

If he states his opposition to forcing anyone to take the Covid vaccine, one more time, would that be enough to get you down from your high hourse?

I agreed with most of Trump’s stands. Not the vax stand. I get it, he’s a pragmatic person and he grew up in Donald Fagen’s “I.G.Y.” post-WWII optimism. But the greater implications of a forced vax-scription forbid The Power of Positive Thinking here.

I think that's it right there. TPTB have Trump convinced he needs those Karens in the suburbs and the Karens love the masks and jabs.

The driving aim of Operation Warp Speed— was rapid production of a preventative “vaccine”... so they went with the theoretic efficacy of mRNA of a small segment of the gene sequence for the SPIKE protein, the S-Protein. On the basis of the theory that this foreign antigen injection would cause formation of a large amount of internally synthesized proteins similar to the S-Protein, to which antibodies would then develop and provide a buffer/block against the S-Protein spike insertion into Angiotensin Converting Enzyme Receptor 2 on the surface of cells lining the lungs. In theory, rapidly produced.

As opposed to trying to quickly develop a FULL antibody producing antigenic entire length of the Covid virus itself— that which is enclosed in the virion body... and not the spike protein. This would have taken many more months if at all and not at all reasonably as “safe” as the S-Protein mRNA.

Pres. Trump deserves very much credit for the organized massive response to the health threat of the Chinese Communist manufactured (with help from Fauci, Gates and many other very bad “world” bad actors) Wuhan Virus bioweapon. Which is quite real, and which Ft. Detrick, MD US Army’s National Biodefense Analysis and Countermeasures Center developed the S-Protein mRNA sequencing as well as the complete sequence of the original full virus (to include proof of it’s non-natural source, containing bat,HIV, and ebola segments, with zoonotic capabilities).

The whole vaccine thing (operation warp speed) is an ego thing for Trump.

He was the best pro-American president of my lifetime. That said, he has an arrogant, bloviating, obnoxious, egotistical personality.

Wouldn’t be someone I’d hang with, but hey, he did a fantastic job upsetting the apple cart of D.C. Funny as all get out to watch the MSM and leftist lose their minds over this guy.

Covid (as politically weaponized by the dems) was about to destroy his presidency and possibly even destroy America if Biden and the dems got free rein. He did all he could to develop a vaccine and therapeutics. The dems, media and GOPe fought him every step of the way.

Now we have a long hard fight ahead, but little time to fight it in.

Trump is still the best man to get it done.

Trump is the man for securing our borders; dealing with China, Russia, North Korea, Iran, etc.; bringing back capital, manufacturing and jobs from China and Mexico; bring back energy independence; strengthening our military; defending our national sovereignty; cutting taxes, cutting regulations, stripping mandates, making our economy soar, etc.

Who do you have in mind who can do as well?

RE: Who do you have in mind who can do as well?

Probably Ron DeSantis, but if Trump runs, I’ll vote for Trump. DeSantis can wait another 4 years to take over.
