I’d rather die than eat licorice…
Ditto. In fact, everyone in my family finds the taste of licorice utterly disgusting.
But only Black licorice?
Eating licorice. How did that ever become a thing. A candy with an oddly medicinal taste and the consistency of dried caulk.
The two do not mix well, and the combination is, shall we say...explosive.
Black licorice is great! And that man is going to kill someone!
Anything’s cool as long as it’s not horsey paste.
Is that something else now for sale at the author’s website?
I will readily admit it's probably just me. But what the Hell? A lot of big words but no bottom line that I can see. "Inhibits replication". Can we define this down a little for the people just waking up? Where? Is it a preventative? Does it lessen the symptoms? A treatment after contracting Covid maybe? Do you have to go to a movie theatre for treatment? Licorice is so expensive at the theatre. Will Junior Mints work in a pinch? Raisenets? What if the theatres are closed due to Covid?...

Nope...I don’t need much of an excess to buy black Twizzlers or the Aussie stuff...and I now have my excuse for the day. :>)
These replies are amusing! :D
You can die from eating licorice—and it’s not even that MUCH licorice. 2 oz. of licorice is nothing, but eaten daily it can give you an arrhythmia.

When I have a patient present with low potassium, cardiac rhythm issues, high blood pressure, swelling of the extremities and/or heart failure I always ask if they have been eating licorice. In 40 plus years I’ve never had a positive answer, but glycyrrhizin can cause these issues via it’s action on the kidneys.
Cases are well documented in the medical literature. Adverse effects have been reported on people who have eaten as little as 2 oz/day for over 2 weeks. These effects can be compounded in patients taking other medications.
