I recall that police were ordered to stand down, the occupiers were there for a couple of weeks, and that Pelosi or some other prominent Democrat approvingly called it "democracy in action." I don't know if any of the organizers or participants were ever charged with anything.

The left has its narrative about January 6th and desperately does not want any contrary narrative to get an honest hearing. As they increasingly do with any controversial subject, they will simply assert that the claim of federal involvement is a "right-wing conspiracy theory" that has been "debunked."
