So the earth doesn’t die due to global warming, but by a comet that creates so much airborne debris that it is winter for 1000 years???

I NEVER read the president as a MAGA influenced act. The closest I got was seeing one guy late in the film with a red hat on, but nothing else was close enough to even suggest it was channeling Trump. More like Bill Clinton to me.

Boring because it tries too hard to be satire. Don’t waste your time.

Meryl Streep played a blond president who was clueless and cackled when she laughed...just like Kamela Harris.

I’ll see on Netflix or a pirated download. Whichever comes first. Don’t have much time for movies.

Netflix is all I need. First season of a Spanish language film Barrier (La Valla) is very good, deals with a dictatorship and a pandemic and a world war. You can get dubbed English. Third season of Frontier jumped the shark. This week Kobra Kai (Karate Kid franchise serialized with everyone grown up or gotten old)’s fourth season comes out, and I can’t wait. F is for Family’s series finale was an act of poetry. No news on when Season 2 of Sweet Tooth (pandemic dystopia) is coming out.

The overrated Streep has always failed at comedic roles, so it make sense that she would be funny only when she isn’t trying to be.

I watched a pretty good historical film last night about a huge threat to the world. While the news media was doing it's usual, “the end is here” routine, the military was quietly going about it business. Very tense and drama filled. Even a love angle. Good acting, good directing, even though the special effects were a little dated, I would recommend “Sink the Bismark” to anyone.

Now what is this latest piece of garbage, we were discussing?

...the story of a planet-killing comet...

The DUmp wants to know why there isn't a plan to deal with this. From the same crowd which depends on Comedy Central for news.

The same fools who look you in the eye and tell you with self-assured smugness that there is no God, will in the next sentence tell you they believe in "global warming" and "climate change". Heh heh heh.

I found it to be similar to Idiocracy. The best part was Steep meeting her demise at the end.

I saw this movie; it absolutely is a comedy. It’s no great surprise the left doesn’t see the humor because it unmasks their totalitarian bent. Parts of it had me laughing out loud because it was obviously made by leftists with absolutely no self awareness. If you can’t see Hillary in the amoral movie president, you need to put down the bong.

I read an article that said this was supposed to be a spoof-off of the Trump admin, but with all the Clinton references and photos of the ‘pres’ with bill, etc., it sure seemed more like a dem admin being portrayed.

the first thing laughable was ‘president’ Meryl Streep in long blond Barbie hair - just, no. And her “son” reminds strongly of Hunter Biden the further into the movie one gets, especially with the coke-nose wiping and wild-eying. And the ‘gates’ character? what can one say?

The threat of an earthquake, Volcano, Asteroid impact or solar flare disrupting life as we know it is far higher than “climate change” in all of its forms.

The original concept, I’m sure, was to have this movie be an allegory for people not waking up to doing something about “climate change”, but a “tunguska event” could kill millions people if it happened anywhere on the east coast of the US and we should spend more money mitigating that than we do on fighting “Climate change”.

The ‘existential threat of our time’ is Democrats. In the 1970’s it was a new ice age, then acid rain, ozone hole, global warming and now climate change. Not to mention the ‘population bomb’ that proceeded all that. This is about power by the left over the rest of us. Never forget that!

Watched it, it was funny in parts, not funny in parts. In some ways it’s not satire as I feel satire should be over the top of reality, but in many ways this film is just a reflection of what goes on in the world today and what might happen if an asteroid we’re going to hit the earth. In the film, The tug of war between social media and reality (all people had to do was to look up to see the danger approaching), is so very real today that is was sad in a way, and not really funny. The special effects were nice for the most part (probably done by Chinese effects artists), I’m going to give it ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Out of 5

“In that the movie is about information flow, the Right knows who controls it.”

And the Right generally knows Who controls ... well ... everything. God’s Kingdom on Earth would be a factor to consider.

Poor flick. Not funny. Not clever. Beats you over the head with its “satire”, rendering it painful. You will not laugh. You will groan.
