housands of flights were delayed or canceled on multiple airlines across the United States over the holiday weekend, leaving thousands of travelers frustrated and stranded, according to FlightAware.
Sunday saw a total of 5,936 delays and 1,387 cancellations of flights within, or out of the United States on Sunday. United, Delta, and JetBlue blamed the flight disruptions on staff shortages due the highly transmissible Omicron variant, US News reported.
United had a particularly bad weekend, cancelling “201 flights on Friday, representing 10 percent of its total schedule, and 238 flights on Saturday, representing 12 percent of its schedule,” according to CNN.
United Airlines said it notified “impacted customers in advance of them coming to the airport,” according to a company statement. “We’re sorry for the disruption and are working hard to rebook as many people as possible and get them on their way for the holidays.”
“This was unexpected,” said United Airline spokesperson Maddie King.

I’d like to see this turned into a massive number of lawsuits if SCOTUS rejects the mandates.

We need to also be prepared for the possibility that the will uphold the mandates.
I would like every airline to offer body guards for hire and tranquilizer darts used on planes.
I suggest to never fly again. I just drove over 2000 miles, one way, for my Christmas visits.
At one time, that would have hurt them. But now that the Top 100 companies have become little more than HR offices for the Federal Government - and will be fully subsidized as long as they continue to enforce government dictates - there is probably no effective way for a public boycott to make any difference.

Horse feathers. The cancellations had nothing to do with COVID. The flights were cancelled because the price of jet fuel skyrocketed between the time of passenger bookings and the respective flight dates. Let’s go, Brandon.
