Promise a third-grader hot chocolate and donuts, and they’re sure to get excited. At least that’s how it worked for Michele Lyons’ son, a student at Carmel River Elementary School, who came home and announced the sweets in connection to a planned tree-lighting event: “Mommy, we have to decorate the Christmas tree,” Lyons says he told her. “We can decorate it with a menorah.”

While Lyons is an atheist, she is culturally Jewish, and celebrates Hanukkah. The instructions in connection to the tree-lighting explicitly encouraged people of other faiths to contribute. “We encourage students and their families to decorate the tree with an item that reflects their families’ values, heritage and/or faith. Please ensure, due to capacity limitations, that the item can fit inside a lunch paper bag,” per a flyer from the PTA.

Yes, there are Jewish-themed Christmas ornaments out there in our melting pot world, but Lyons wasn’t having it. “The suggestion is offensive to a Jewish person,” she says. “You are asking us to endorse a Christmas symbol.”

If this country was founded on religious freedom, the solution to the “problem” described here isn’t to get religion out of the schools. It’s to get THE GOVERNMENT out of the schools.

The complaining mother here would then have the option so send her child to whatever school she wishes … or to no school at all.

The Christmas tree, as pleasing as it is to many Believers, is not Christian. Neither is the act of putting gifts under a tree.

It is pagan, as is the choice of Dec 25th, which has nothing to do with Jesus.

My family celebrates Christmas as a Western cultural holiday which provides a chance for family to be together for a few days.

Meanwhile, there are Christian brothers and sisters uncertain about their future due to job loss under the mengele vax mandates. Whatever we do for the holidays, let’s not forget about them.

Sounds like you have studied Leviticus 23. Jesus was given flesh on Tabernacles, the season of "Joy". There is no beginning or end to Jesus so there is no birth and death for Him. We celebrate the "Light of the World" on Tabernacles. The Roman Catholic church introduced Sunday to replace the Sabbath, and gave us the 25th of December as a replacement for Tabernacles. 90% of Christians don't know this was a pagan day just as Easter celebrates Ishtar and has nothing to do with Jesus. We are even warned in Ezekiel 8 that these days are an abomination to God yet we continue on.

The days we are told to observe by God, we don't observe, the days we are told to avoid, we observe.

Government needs to get out of school, yep.
People need to quit getting butt hurt over other beliefs, yep.
OK, the dates are wrong, boo hoo! What are we celebrating? Tradition? Family? If that’s the real thing you’re celebrating at this time of the year or at Easter, you are wrong. Focus on God. Focus on Christ. That is the reason for the season. Being with family is a side benefit, and another gift He has given to us.

I want to learn more about the Holy days.

The biggest challenge in the Christian world is discernment. We roll up our sleeves for the mengele jab just like the heathens do, and we send our children into pagan academies aka socialist govt schools just like the heathens do.
