President Trump Supports Vaccine, Doesn’t Support Mandates December 23, 2021 | Sundance | 76 Comments
President Trump gave an interview to Candace Owens for The Daily Wire. The full interview is only available for subscribers [link]; however, there is a segment released by Mrs. Owens where Donald Trump talks about the specifics of his position on the vaccine and the mandates.
President Trump supports the three vaccines that were developed during his administration, and is proud of the system he put into place to develop them and get them available to the public. However, President Trump does not support mandating the vaccine or forced vaccination for anyone, and believes that people should have the freedom to decide what is in their individual best interests. At approximately 05:10 of the interview, President Trump notes the specific issue of a government mandated vaccine developed by a private corporation, and the risk of corruption and conflicted interests involved. President Trump accepts that reasonable people would be skeptical of the vaccine itself and would have personal reasons not to participate.
Toward the very end of the interview Trump states he is proud of the accomplishment and will not “give up” on his belief of the vaccine development as a success during his administration. However, he sees the forced mandate as very detrimental to the economy and views the consequences of the mandate itself as a problem for national security.
Given the range of opinions on the issue of the vaccines overall, and the mandate specifically, President Trump’s position seems quite pragmatic and reasonable. He’s proud to have developed the vaccines, believes they are of benefit, but strongly respects individual choice, liberty and the freedom to decide for yourself and your family. I don’t see anything controversial in this position.
Too bad. I use to trust him.
Trump has no choice but to support the stab....it was something he was pushing for and selling during the campaign.
That’s an unbelievably stupid thing to say.
And yet you said it.

Im far from alone. DT jumps the shark on this issue.
“Im far from alone.”
Stupid people tend to travel in herds.

I don’t support the vax at all, but Trump has his heart in the right place and opposes the mandate. He’s on the side of freedom as he always is, even if he’s not privy to the serious problems of the vax itself. Not his fault.
A foolish attitude...but one that Rat Party Headquarters would thank you for. Cynically, that is!
How establishmentarian of you to say say. Lol
And if you don’t have to take it, you can believe whatever you want about it.
He at least gave us the choice to try or not. As an executive he has to have trust scientists in the civil service. The scientists were either mistaken or corrupt. My opinion, others still have the right to vax or not.
From an article on The Hill today: (yeah, I know) Note the quotes.
Former President Trump said Tuesday it was tough to be “overly critical” of President Biden after the current president praised the Trump administration for its COVID-19 vaccine rollout.
“Thanks to the prior administration and our scientific community, America is one of the first countries to get the vaccine,” Biden said from the White House, referring to the Trump administration’s vaccine effort referred to as Operation Warp Speed.
“Thanks to my administration, the hard work of Americans, we let — our rollout made America among the world leaders in getting shots in arms,” Biden continued.
Trump, in an interview with Fox News the same evening, said he was both “surprised” and “appreciative” of the president’s acknowledgment, adding it is difficult to criticize Biden after receiving recognition.
“It is a little tough to be overly critical now because he just thanked us for the vaccine and thanked me for what I did,” Trump reportedly said. “You know, that’s a first — so it is very tough for me to be overly critical now.”
The 45th president said that he believes Biden’s remarks “were a terrific thing” that will “make a lot of people happy.”
“I think he did something very good,” Trump said. “You know, it has to be a process of healing in this country, and that will help a lot.”
Trump told Fox News that he has received a booster dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, which Biden acknowledged in his speech, and encouraged people to “embrace” vaccination. But he was critical of vaccine mandates.
“It’s a matter of getting people out to, ideally, get the vaccine,” Trump said. “If you have the mandate, the mandate will destroy people’s lives — it destroys people’s lives, just as the vaccine saves people.”
“I think that it’s really a question of tone,” he added. “It’s a question of trust, and hopefully, the people that have had COVID, hopefully they will be given credit for that.”
White House press secretary Jen Psaki said Wednesday the president’s remarks about Trump getting a booster was “an acknowledgment that the former president sent an important signal to many Americans about the importance of getting boosted,”
🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮
Is that you, Rove?
Having spent 20+ years in “front line” medicine...at a *very* famous hospital...I can assure you that there are *no* guarantees in medicine. Even aspirin tablets have a mortality rate.A small one to be sure but people *are* killed by aspirin.
No,it’s me....Trump!
He’s in favor of vaccines. That’s a reasonable position to take.
He’s not in favor of government mandates. That’s also a reasonable position to take.
Only mouth breathing morons would have a problem with this.
And apparently there are a lot of those around here these days.

I agree everyone should have the right to choose but to tell Ownens the vaccines are one of the greatest achievements of mankind is obscene.
I got the Jab myself, I don’t support mandates though.
You were obviously were under a rock last year when Trump promoted those Vaccines. He hasn’t changed messages.
