House progressives are calling on President Biden to use his executive power to implement parts of Democrats' massive legislative agenda, which stalled out in the Senate this month when Sen. Joe Manchin said he cannot vote for it.
"Today, the elected leadership of the Congressional Progressive Caucus is calling on the President and all Democrats who believe in the need to Build Back Better for climate, care, immigrants, and those seeking economic dignity and opportunity to come together and deliver for the American people," the Congressional Progressive Caucus said in a statement.
"That means a whole-of-government approach," it continued. "In Congress, we will continue to prioritize a legislative path for Build Back Better… In the meantime, the White House must continue to act on a parallel track by using the President’s incredibly powerful tool of executive action."

Would that abuse of power be an impeachable offence?
Would that be, sorta like, you know... a threat to our Democracy?
I believe the president can grant citizenship to anyone. So, that’s a possibility. Millions of new citizens. Even if he doesn’t have the legal power to take that or other actions, undoing them may prove politically impossible. The powers of the presidency have been continuously expanding during my lifetime. They need to be seriously reigned in. But the only time that could happen is when the “conservatives” are in power. Nobody...I mean nobody...in politics wants to give up power.
My recollection is to undo a “law” the president has enacted takes a bill through Congress with a high enough number of votes that it can override a veto. And likely the president would veto it because some politicians will lose their nerve and either abstain or vote the opposite of their previous vote.
Time to play cowboys and progressives.
Be careful what you ask for, and the precedence you will set for future presidents. Once you cross this line, more bad things will happen
