There is plenty of local grass fed beef available out here and plenty of naturalists like me to buy and eat it-feed lot beef-or any other fed-out fast livestock full of hormones antibiotics and who-knows-what-other chemicals is bad for humans-between that and the chemical sprayed veggies from the corporate farms in Cali, etc and all the other processed crap, no wonder so many people are fat and unhealthy-I’m thrilled to live in BFE where fresh, organic food is everywhere-even in my own garden...

Of Colorado’s 64 counties, just 13 supported the introduction of huge, imported Canadian timber wolves on designated lands west of the Continental Divide..

They ( Boulder, Denver.. ) think wolves are cute.. They do not understand they eat livestock ( sheep, etc. ) and grab small children .. ~Republican State Sen. Bob Rankin plans to put forth a bill in the Colorado General Assembly that would introduce an equal number of wolves into Boulder and ..

Recordings of emergency calls show Washington wildlife officials objected to an air rescue of a woman (salmon researcher) treed by wolves, or help from the Okanogan County sheriff.

She tried pepper spray and yelling (did not work) , the pack surrounded her, then she climbed a tree. She later climbed down, only to find the wolves still there. She scrambled back up the tree and called for rescue.. Government wildlife managers: No helicopter. Federally listed species. 3 WDFW personnel agree. ~ according to DNR’s call log.

Sheriff : We are more concerned for her life .. we do not know how safe she is. I don’t know how stout the tree is, and if the limbs will continue to hold her or how long she can hold on... Within a half hour, the woman was safe in the DNR helicopter.. The flight from Omak to the woman took 14 minutes.

More than 85 percent of all wolf kills that have occurred in Oregon have taken place on private property.. Wolves have killed cows, horses, guard dogs, sheep and llamas as well as calves.

“”There is a reason wolves were trapped and hunted to near extinction 100 years ago.””

Yep! To be honest there’s no need in todays eco system for large predatory animals. There’s nothing they provide that the human species can not provide for itself, quicker and far more efficiently. They exist only because we allow it.

On our place Mountain lions get shot.
Coyotes get shot.
Feral Hog’s get shot.
And if we had wolves they would get shot.

That is sickening. Poor woman. Shows what they think of human life...hmmm. Okanogan. Oh. Over past Twisp where firefighters died because they couldn’t take water from a salmon stream many years ago.

We left that state after 25 yrs and came to northern Mi.
It is glorious here. We love it!

We laugh because up in the UP DNR will find a shot wolf now and then, dead. No ones land.
So on the radio they will run these ads kind of asking for people to come forward...federal crime...blah blah.
There is no one here that is going to do that and most of us are glad someone got one.

Hate wolves.

“Candice Berner, a 32-year-old school teacher...”

IIRC, that was the gal that was out for a run. It was a pretty scary and gruesome story that they deduced from her footprints in the snow and the wolf tracks in the woods along the trail. And the blood trail.

100 fatalities per year

Elephants are herbivores, but these giant creatures can be very dangerous if agitated.

Retaliation on carnivores is driven by the proportion of livestock lost, not necessarily the frequency of conflict (Mishra 1997). Lions, like other carnivores, can cause substantial losses to human populations or households living adjacent to protected areas like Amboseli National Park. In retaliation, herders in the Amboseli region “who are mostly Maasai” resort to killing, snaring, and poisoning predators, a situation which has led to mass predator deaths in recent years (Frank et al. 2006)

For all of the idiots that wanted to reintroduce wolves, I have no problem with that. The wolves should have been released in their cities, where they could enjoy them. Besides, a few wolf packs could do a lot of good in Boulder and downtown Denver.

Actually, it sounds like Central Va would be a really great place to reintroduce wolves as well.

It’s not a matter of would I like it. Truth is without the protection of the human species and their laws these large predators would be removed because of the human species and it’s needs. It’s funny how those members of the human species unaffected by these large predators always want to protect large predators from humans, leavening other members whose lives are affected to suffer from these laws. Lift the feel good laws and large predators would be removed along with several other species who are a threat to humans and their livelihood.
