Kyle Rittenhouse, the teenager acquitted for two fatal 2020 shootings in Wisconsin, is warning media outlets that he might be filing lawsuits.
At a gathering of conservatives Monday hosted by Turning Point USA, Rittenhouse, 18, said "accountability is coming, I'd be on the lookout" — prompting cheers from the audience, the Arizona Republic reported.
In a separate interview with Fox News at the conference site, Rittenhouse was asked if he thought a trend was developing in which the media was starting to face consequences for its coverage of people like him and Nick Sandmann — who recently settled with a major network over its coverage of his viral confrontation with protester Nathan Phillips at the Lincoln Memorial in 2019.

He’ll have a bit of a hill to climb on this. The libel standard for public figures including those who accidentally become public figures due to circumstance, is much higher than regular citizens. Nick did nothing to deserve the libelous attacks on him so he just needed to hold by the negligence standard, i.e., should the reporters have been more careful in how they reported on Nick?
Kyle will likely have to show that the media were willful in their libelous attacks. I for one believe that he can easily make the case based on the outright lies from so many of the pundits.
Go Kyle go! I hope you win big.
Good point, we’ll see.
“On a kick to bad-mouth Lin Wood.”
Yeah, what Kyle has revealed about Wood makes Wood look suspect, not the other way around.
At least to all the people who are still somewhat sane.
“Once you’re charged, anyone can speculate.”
Sure, they can speculate, but speculation is a matter of opinion. Defamation is spreading malicious falsehoods, not opinions.
Kyle, don’t announce it beforehand - just hit ‘em with it.
Because Kyle was charged and tried, he can sue for defamation and could likely win, but would be hard pressed to prove any damages that were worse for his reputation than the charges and trial were.
Robert Barnes explains it:
Libel. The word is libel.

> Stated BLM supporter...
Sketchy, but then a lot of people think BLM is only about keeping white racist cops from killing black people.
> 2020 election not stolen.
He’s right.
> On a kick to bad-mouth Lin Wood.
Wood deserves to be bad-mouthed, as do Giuliani and Powell for that matter.
My guess is that Kyle is looking to make some bank and cover the cost of legal expenses. I hope he has some responsible adults in his life (and I don’t mean “conservative” politicians and political activists who will use him and cast him aside as quick as any Leftist) who are given him some good advice. If he was my kid he would be grounded for the rest of his life.

"Second, a defamation case is unlikely to succeed here against any defendant. By inserting himself into the civil unrest in Kenosha, Rittenhouse voluntarily became a limited purpose public figure, which subjects defamation claims against him to the actual malice standard."
Kyle is really endangering his future. These evil media people have no restraints and will have him stopped from suing, winning, and embarrassing them, one way or another. Just file the suits. Don’t talk. Take Duco’s advice.
“Nick Sandmann approves this message.”

As I recall, Sandman did NOT TALK PUBLICLY about that. Kyle should follow that example and TALK LESS.
Just IMHO, of course.
If I’m a juror those words mean less than nothing.
I hope Kyle will be a wealthy young man, very wealthy!
Wishful thinking by the Marxists.
Good kid but he needs to shut up.
What about Kyle already being kicked out of college before he even started?
