Though it's likely a moot point, a judge on Monday raised Darrel E. Brooks Jr.'s $1,000 bail in a Milwaukee domestic violence case to $200,000.
His new lawyers argued it was unnecessary, given Brooks' $5 million bail in the Waukesha Christmas Parade case, when he's facing six counts of first-degree intentional homicide.
"Bad facts make bad case law," said Brooks' attorney, Robert Hampton. "I'm fearful where this leads." He cited case law that suggests cash bail is unnecessary when there's no risk a defendant won't appear for the next court date.

So like from $1 to $3?
All the reporters are zeros at yahoo
I don’t care if the bail is 5 billion. This guy does not belong on the street. And if he gets out and commits some other crime then the judge should personally have to answer for it as if the judge committed that crime themselves.
“Yahoo News obviously doesn’t know how to do simple math.”
Probably the headline writer is at fault.
Shows again the people who work at these positions not only do not know what is happening in the world, they don’t know what is happening in their own newsrooms.
And they think they are keeping us informed.
$ 1,000 X 200% = $2,000,000 (2 million)
NOT $200,000
I agree with his lawyer.
There is no chance he will not show up to trial so they should give the $1000 bail that was negligently set back to his mother.
Black supremecist, terror attack.
or they decide to raise it, then they should give the $1000 back to his mother and ask her if she wants to post the new bail amount
A little late...damage is done.
Unfortunately WI doesn’t have the death penalty. We abolished it in 1853.
“jumps 200 percent in Milwaukee case
“
Somebody took CRT Math...
Probably just me, but my phone calculator says $2,000
A hundred percent of 1000 is 2000. 200 % is 2000.
You are correct.
Thanks
My cipherin’ ain’t what it used to be
But:

I suspect it’s the headline writer, as someone else pointed out
That’s what happens when journalism dies
Evidently, there is also trouble with higher math.
