Fox News’ “Special Report” host Bret Baier wants to make it very clear that he isn’t like his hack co-workers at Fox, okay?
Amid shockwaves over Chris Wallace’s departure to CNN, Baier on Sunday tried to distance his show from fellow Fox host Tucker Carlson, who regularly peddles pro-Trump talking points and misinformation in service of the ex-president.

I watched about 2 minutes of his “straight” news election night before flipping away from FNC and haven’t been back. The FNC news division is CNN lite at best and PMSNBC on their bad days.
I think he’s probably more like Ms Shepherd Smith.
Despite Bret’s gruff, Traffic-Cop-with-Reflective-Shades on image, Bret is a follower, not a leader.

Baier will replace Wallace’s Left wing reporting.
There is supposed to be a difference between NEWS and NEWS COMMENTARY. Tucker, Sean and Laura are commentators. Bret is more of a reporter of news, with less analysis and opinion included. I have no idea what his political leanings are.
Exactly. I'm sure they all would say the same. Baier does news, Carlson & Hannity do opinions on the news.

Baier is hard/straight news.
Tucker, Hannity, Laura are all opinion shows.
That’s the difference and I see no problem with what Baier had
to say. Although I do think it shows he’s a weasle for going
to the higher ups and complaining about Tucker’s documentary.
It’s too bad. I remember Rush many years ago having Baier on his show (or vice versa perhaps) and I thought they were kindred spirits at the time.

Exactly. He is making a point about guys like Don Lemon asking for Fox to be banned from White House Press Conferences because they aren't real journalists. Peter Doocy is who they're after, and are trying to get at him via Tucker and Hannity, et al.
