The National Legal and Policy Center (NLPC), filed a seven-page complaint with the Office of Congressional Ethics against U.S. Representative Ilhan Omar for failing to disclose a lucrative book deal she signed in January 2019 in her Annual Financial Disclosure Reports for both 2019 and 2020, the latter which was filed on August 13, 2021.
NLPC also alleges that she undervalued the worth of her husband’s political consulting company at less than $1,000 even though she reported that it may generate income up to one million dollars. NLPC also alleges that she omitted disclosing any checking or savings accounts.
“NLPC demands a full investigation of Ilhan Omar’s apparent disclosure violations and the imposition of civil and criminal penalties,” said Peter Flaherty, Chairman of NLPC. “She cannot be allowed to flout financial disclosure laws intended to reveal possible conflicts of interest,” Flaherty added.
“Even if Rep. Omar’s book deal was approved by the House Ethics Committee as her spokesman claims, at a minimum, she had to report the book deal as an asset on her disclosure forms and the receipt of any royalties,” said Paul Kamenar, counsel for NLPC who drafted and filed NLPC’s complaint.
NLPC also has pending a complaint against Rep. Omar with the Federal Election Commission for allegedly using her campaign funds for personal use to pay travel expenses for her then boyfriend, Tim Mynett, who ran her campaign. She later married him and discontinued using his consulting company under pressure from NLPC’s complaint.

Ilhan Omar is really a political advocate for ...Hamas, Afghanistan, Palestinians and the Taliban, along with other groups who are anti-American. She does not represent the USA.
The National Legal and Policy Center, what a joke, she’s here illegally, and a criminal and the NLPC files ethics charges. She needs to be grabbed by the back of her neck kicked in the a## as she’s boarding a plane back to her sh##hole country where she came. But no one will touch her for fear of being called a bigot and a racist. Stop the whining and do it
She needs to be put on a boat & shipped back to her homeland..her trip ticket should be paid COD.
She has the mentality of her homeland....she may have been raised in her later formative years in the US but her parents instilled in her their belief system and political leanings.....thus we see this consistently in Omar. She does not represent this country at all.
