Officials in Paris have canceled New Year’s Eve firework festivities due to the growing concern about the fast spreading omicron COVID-19 variant, France24.com reported.
A scientific panel suggested on Friday that authorities “should impose significant restrictions” due to increasing caseloads.

Omicron produces head cold-like symptoms, but appears to make government bureaucrats go frothing-at-the-mouth mad.
It’s outside for one thing....and there’s plenty of room to spread out. Just plain stupid....It’s not about the fireworks...it’s about salooning before and after.

The real reason they cancelled the fireworks is that as soon as they started to shoot them off, the French would try to surrender.
