Russia might take unspecified new measures to ensure its security if the U.S. and its allies continue to take provocative action and ignore Moscow's demand for guarantees precluding NATO's expansion to Ukraine, a senior diplomat said Saturday.
Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov accused Western allies of continuously pushing the envelope in relations with Russia, and warned that Moscow could also up the ante if the West doesn't treat its demands seriously.
Ryabkov's statement in an interview with the Interfax news agency came a day after Moscow submitted draft security documents demanding that NATO deny membership to Ukraine and other former Soviet countries and roll back the alliance's military deployments in Central and Eastern Europe — bold ultimatums that are almost certain to be rejected by the U.S. and its allies.

I know the idea of boxing in the Russian may seem wonderful to some, but anything with Ukraine is the functional equivalent of the Chinese pitting troops in Mexico or Canada.
Whatever the Russians intend, they share more than just a border with Ukraine.
Brandon is a sock puppet and has no clue of what’s going on. The Russians are set to do whatever they feel like doing whether the US responds or not.
My concern is that this regime is so desperate for a Win we stick our nose into this.
It is the same as the US putting troops in South Korea, Japan and Taiwan vis a Vis China. And we should do that, as well as US troops in Poland and Hungary. Along with THAAD and short range nuclear weapons in both theatres. Also give Israel and the GCC the tools to handle Iran should they try to take advantage, and India high tech weapons and training to handle China from the south.
Something weird will happen, like them moving missiles into Cuba again. 2022 will be more crazy that 2021.
An all out nuclear attack right now would really make them shit their pants!
