Covington Catholic graduate Nicholas Sandmann says he reached another settlement with a member of news media, this time with NBC.
Sandmann, a 19-year-old from Kentucky, announced on social media he had reached the settlement. The settlement with NBC marks his third settlement with a news outlet following CNN and the Washington Post.
"At this time I would like to release that NBC and I have reached a settlement," Sandmann wrote Friday. "The terms are confidential."
Documents filed Friday in federal court in Kentucky showed both sides agreed to dismiss the case without a judgment from the court, the Cincinnati Enquirer reported.
Sandmann became the center of attention after a viral confrontation between him and a Native American man named Nathan Phillips at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C., after attending events associated with the March for Life with classmates from Covington Catholic. Sandmann, wearing a "MAGA" hat, smiled at Phillips, an attendee of the Indigenous Peoples March who sang and played a drum in front of the teenager.

Not for a lawyer worth his salt.
The lawyer's cut for $50k would not buy a new Audi.
Now Pocahontas Warren is pounding the drums.
I heard Mickey Mantle asked what his pay might have been today as an MVP, clutch World Series contributor year after year, a dominant power hitter, reliable high batting average, good fielder and fast runner (early seasons).
“They say I would have gone into the owner’s boardroom, smiled, looked around the table and said ‘Hello, partners.’”
Law&Crime is a lefty publication, from what I can tell.
He may not be alone.
But you can still be lonely surrounded by people.
Xi and friends will make sure that nbc has a solid financial standing.
It doesn’t matter. The analysis is correct.
Lawyers generally take 33%-40%. On the high end, that’s 30K for Sandmann and 20K for the lawyer.
He’s on his third settlement with more to go. So 90K in his pocket. 60K for the lawyer.
With a few more to go.
in your opinion
“Faced with long odds given the case law, if he were offered 50K or 100k to go away and keep quiet, it’s a no brainer.”
I think that a factor here was his age at the time of the incident. It was more than the amounts you mention by at least 10x. Parents in a jury would take a very dim view of abusing minors and so would judges who ultimately set the number. This will also be a factor for Rittenhouse.
A good lawyer on the case should settle for a amount in the millions.
“Nick should be the new Chief of NBC, giving it a complete swabbing from stem to stern.”
Add bleach one foot high through the whole shithole for three hours.
“Why is it your business? Were you wronged somehow?”
Well, it is “our” business, in that a fair and just society was wronged by people and organizations who use “our” airwaves to destroy individuals who they don’t like.
“He may end up with half a million when it’s all said and done (but his lawyers will take 40% of it).”
His lawyer, Lin Wood, took the case pro bono. As to the amount, and with Wood ramrodding it, I’d guess the amount to be many millions since Wood was looking to stick it to the media, no pussyfooting around.
We got a $250,000 settlement for a dog bit under our neighbors homeowners insurance.
Kyle got a hell of a lot more than that.

Everyone is just guessing. Nobody knows a damn thing.
That guy wasn’t an American Indian.
They truly are FAKE news. They can’t help it.
Even the Examiner. Shame.
Dog bites are easy. Libel is not.
