This may be the orginal performance(?)
Bob Hope was an American patriot wo loved the Troops. I never got an opportunity to see his show when he was in Vietnam same time I was in 1970.
I'm going to watch and enjoy these videos now, thanks again!
Thanks for the Memory--Shep Fields & His Rippling Rhythm Orchestra (1938)
I always have a soft spot for Mr. Hope.
When my flight was delayed getting to Atlanta,
my mom was waiting and very upset.
Bob was coming through the terminal and asked her
what was wrong and she explained I was late getting in
from Vietnam. He gave her a hug and told her everything
would be alright.
God bless ya Bob.
I got to see him in Chu Lai RVN.
he was about a half an inch tall.
We all appreciated his coming...and the girls.
Raquel Welch was one of them.
She was about a half an inch tall too.
Thanks for the Memory--Charlie & His Orchestra (c. 1941)
Thanks for the memory
In every German's mind
When you broke the ties that bind
And dictated a pact called
The Treaty of Versailles!
How rotten that was...
That is really weird!

The FR Canteen is Free Republic's longest running daily thread
specifically designed to provide entertainment and moral support for the military.
The doors have been open since Oct 7 2001,
the day of the start of the war in Afghanistan.
We are indebted to you for your sacrifices for our Freedom.
Howdy, Kathy.
These Bob Hope shows will be fun to watch.
He was such a godsend to our troops over the years, bringing smiles and laughter - and pretty girls LOL - to their lives while they were far, far from home.
Hi Everybody!
(((HUGS)))
Some years ago, they renamed the Burbank Airport in Southern California for Bob Hope, but then they dropped the name and went back to Burbank Airport. The same thing happened to Lindbergh Field in San Diego. Just recently, McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas, named for Pat McCarran, one of Nevada's greatest statesmen, has been renamed for Dingy Harry Reid.
It is obvious that being an American patriot is a terrible thing in a world run by wokesters.
