At least 13 counties in New York state are telling newly-tapped Democrat Gov. Kathy Hochul that they will not be enforcing her mask mandate on private businesses — and some of the county leaders are letting their displeasure over the “dictate” be known.

According to the New York Post, Orange County Executive Steve Neuhaus ripped Hochul, telling the governor he opposes “using Gestapo tactics and going business to business and asking them if they are enforcing masking.”

The order from Hochul puts the onus on businesses: either checking customers’ vaccine statuses or enforcing mask-wearing. ..."

I live in one of the counties that will not enforce Hochul’s mandate. More need to push back. If masks really worked, covid would have been stopped when Cuomo’s mandate was in force for months.

If they really wanted to stop covid they would freely prescribe ivermectin or one of the other known treatments.

My own county of Putnam not only is the mask mandate being ignored by most but the County Executive said they will not enforce it.

I’m surprised Steuben County is on the list. We lived there for a while, and Corning Glass brought in a lot of lefties and expats which made for not-great dynamics.

Our county, DuPage, while not red has told Governor Creosote the same thing. Not one local PD or the Sheriff is doing anything to enforce it.

I refuse to put one on and if the business tells me I have to I don’t patronize it.
