Suspect killed identified as Gabriel Malachi Kalu, 17, of Greensboro
A tobacco store employee in North Carolina shot and killed one of three robbery suspects Monday, according to police.
Greensboro police said that three males entered the store on the city’s north side at around 7:45 p.m. The suspects took some cash at gunpoint and then fled the area.

One shot out of three seems to be a common result, of late. I guess everyone goes in with the idea of cutting and running if the robbery turns bad.
... Not in NC. They don't have "Bail Reform" and it's 100% Legal to carry a firearm in most places in NC aside from Govt Offices and inside Schools. You can also Conceal Carry at your own business without a permit, as it should be.
Sounds like common sense bail and 2nd amendment rules.

Good to see the “suspect” is not the employee.
Guessing they didn’t steal enough to cover funeral costs. Probably not enough to send flowers.
You may rationalize all you want, but you may be relying on a jury to believe you remained under threat.
It is inevitable that people will start defending themselves from thieves & robbers....trespass can be deadly...do you ask the trespasser what his/her intentions are then shoot?
The big, but sad, difference between an armed robber and a Biden voter is that in the long run, you save more money shooting the Biden voter.

You have to scroll to the bottom to find out that the clerk said he fired during the robbery and then the suspects fled. They also don't seem to mention where the dead suspect's body was located.
Almost like they are trying to create a narrative of culpability.

Folks tend to see these results and suggest more range time for the good guy and/or devolve the discussion to caliber effectiveness. What so many don't recognize is that when lead of any caliber starts flying, especially when one of the targets drop or hollers in pain, the rest of the crew tends to remember important business elsewhere.

Teens around here are busy with school, sports, & extra curricular activities. That’s what teens with involved parents are up to.
Actually, it’s the perfect way to handle such situations. One killed is two felony murders against the living scum!
The dead guy is 17 years old.
This is the way the thinking probably went.
We’re going rob that store and get all the money.
We’re gonna buy some dope and party.
