I suppose Sotomayor could be considered the “conscious” of the Court by liberals because she is less brain dead than Breyer (who is 83) or Ruth Buzzie Ginsburg (who is still dead), but I don’t know what Kagan could have done to piss the liberals off.
Kagan is white, therefore she receives no fawning comments. Simple as that.
