Well, then, i guess they should start firing all the unjabbed workers. That should help, right?

Does anyone believe this nonsense anymore? A friend had a first hand experience with an ‘overwhelmed’ hospital in Oregon about a year ago. Had covid, got a splitting headache & called an ambulance. She has a precursor to an aneurysm (hard to explain - she didn’t have one, but her doc said it could happen anytime & didn’t offer any treatment for it), & as she walked herself back out of the hospital, she passed empty room after empty room. One lone guy was standing guard by a door.
All in a hospital that was supposedly overwhelmed.

Hospital capacity is calculated on whether there is the necessary staff to care for each patient, not on the actual physical beds in the facility.
There is a good chance this is a realistic assessment. For instance, the Mayo Clinic let go 1,000 health care workers because they declined the vaccination. Hence, now there is a “bed shortage” because there isn’t enough staff.

Around here it is lack of staff that is keeping people from being admitted.

Minnesota hospitals warn they are 'overwhelmed' .....then stop laying off thousands of smart freedom loving unvaxxed hospital staff. If not then stop your crying and whining.

This is really about staff shortages I would guess. They can’t hire enough people and don’t want to admit that.

It’s possible that’s the case....a family member just had his hip surgery cancelled in central PA. Hospitals are packed not just in his town but in the area.

Ask anyone in the hospital business. "What was your capacity for admitted patients needing a room? " The answer will shock you. It used to be one hospital bed per 1,100 in the population. It is now one bed for about 9,000.
The business model for medical procedures of every type went from an inpatient care model to an outpatient care model.
This change has exposed critical vulnerabilities in our systems. A large accident on an interstate or a catastrophe finds a city in a capacity problem. It's so common now that even emergency rooms don't have a doctor present. Nurse practitioners run the show with a doctor on call, giving phone or video consultation to the staff.
The only model we have is one of cost lowered outpatient medical care.

Some hospitals are overwhelmed because other hospitals figured out it wasn't worth having a COVID-1984 ward. Care facilities also decided they won't take back patients who tested positive for COVID until they test clear, leaving them in the hospital for days since they can't go home either.
