Been in decline for quite some time. The closest town to me in MO had a population in the late 1800s that was three times the size it is now. They were mining iron ore and other metals. They cut down most trees to run the smelters. Eventually, the mines were all tapped out and people started leaving. All there is now are a couple of big lead mines. I live in the lead belt.

What an idiot. I used to live in midwest. Nothing abnormal here.
And, global warming leads to less severe weather. Try studying some physics.

We really, really, REALLY, need to learn that when some political hack uses the words ‘science’, ‘experts’, or such - that we MUST MUST MUST DEMAND details; SOURCES, DATA, METHODS...
I’m so tired of them hiding behind these words without being required to provide any specifics.
Yeah, because warm and cold fronts never ran into each other before.
That is why “democracy” is the rallying cry of the ignorant.
Those who understand reality mourn the loss of the republic.
Wizard of Oz, in the 1930s, storm cellar. They had tornadoes then too.
Back then there were fewer structures to destroy and fewer people to hurt or kill. So the same storm did less damage.
No, wasn’t aware we had to read all the posts before we comment.
