She makes a lot of great points, but college is supposed to be about learning. Yeah, great athletes inspire us and blah-de-blah. But sports is what’s making your kids’ expensive college degree not worth the paper it’s printed on. She’s saying, “How can we keep all this effed-up crap as part of the educational system and still not be wasting our money?” (I read the article a couple of days ago and that was my first thought.) Clearly, there is no way to fix this. We need to stop wasting our money and placing such an emphasis on “higher education.”
Is athletics all that’s driving your kid’s path through education? Hm, maybe time to re-think. Emphasis on college is a symptom of communism’s advance. Reality is that lots of people aren’t that helped by college, especially if they didn’t do well as students in elementary education, but communism (Marx’s theory) insists that “everyone” become educated, at State expense if necessary. Without leftist professors, communism in the USA would be dead in the water.
End college athletics and that will solve the problem once and for all. If a kid wants to become involved in sports, that’s great! Ya know? Get him or her involved in a league and go for it.
Like, Nice Lady is saying, “We can have college sports - YAY, MONEY!!! - and academics, too, if you kids will just get off your lazy a$$es and get out there and put your lives on the line!”
“The wonderful education you have earned here will have been wasted if you find yourself one day observing some lie predominating in your own field, and the best you can do is sit on the phone with me anonymously lamenting the state of things.”
Yes, by all means: Threaten them! Get them up and out into the streets! Inflame them with anti-trans rhetoric on behalf of college athletes!
Because they don’t have enough problems already.
It would be very interesting if the scoreboards at the Olympics and other world championship competitions had an additional column which showed where that athlete attended college or trains or even resides. The number that would show USA would be astounding and a wonderful visual for the world to see.
