Nothing will happen until this gets to figure skating. Guys in tutus will adversely affect the ratings, and that will have an impact on the future decisions to allow it. At least the levels where advertising numbers matter.
It will never get to figure skating. Unlike most sports, figure skating is contested based on subjective scoring and not objective physical performance (time, goals scored, length or height of a jump, etc.). As a result, it’s one of the only sports where the women can attract TV ratings that are comparable to — or even exceed — the ratings for men.
