Saule Omarova, President Biden’s pick for comptroller of the currency, has withdrawn her nomination after at least five Democratic senators and every Republican senator made it clear that they were unwilling to vote to confirm her to the post.
My question is this: Why the hell was she nominated in the first place?
Perhaps he hasn’t noticed yet, but he is not in a particularly good place right now. He is wildly unpopular. He is already seen as last year’s news. He has yet to persuade Congress to pass the core of his policy agenda. His claim to be a moderate is falling apart by the day. His party seems to be on course for a historic drubbing in next year’s midterm elections. And, in spite of it all, he just spent some of his fast-draining political capital trying to put a radical into the currency office. Why?

Most likely a slap in the face to an internal faction of bankers who weren't going along with financing something that the Cabal wanted to do. They never expected that nominee to be appointed. It was a "do what we want or else" proposition.
Now that the Cabal got what they wanted, the next nominee will be someone more acceptable to the bankers.
I have no inside contacts. This is just a theory based upon external observations.

Joe Biden has no idea who he is even speaking to, let alone any nominees to his cabinet posts. Please....
Why? Because he didn’t do it. He’s not controlling the show.

It’s to give the GOP cover for when a slightly less radical candidate is nominated and approved. Then the Republicans will be able to say, “Hey, at least we forced Omarova to withdraw!”
