President Joe Biden on Wednesday signed an executive order (EO) to spend taxpayer money to make the vast fleet of government vehicles and thousands of federal buildings nationwide carbon-emission free by 2050.
“The executive order will reduce emissions across federal operations, invest in American clean energy industries and manufacturing, and create clean, healthy, and resilient communities,” the White House said of the executive order.

And it won’t cost a penny.
It will save billions
Oh, I can’t wait to watch the first test flight of a solar powered Air Force One....
After we spend trillions to get there.
The next Republican president needs to issue an executive order cancelling all Demonicrat executive orders.
This is impossible. Unless they cheat. Way too many government buildings to pay for this. Think of just the military bases. Unless they’re just going to close them all - which they might do.
Reminds me of an old joke:
Q: How do you make 100 million dollars selling exotic Italian motorcycles?
A: Start with 200 million dollars.
When you can’t pass it in Congress, use a pen. Another symbolic gesture to please the tree-huggers.
Wait, I thought we only had nine years left.
EV cars should ONLY be able to consume 100% “green” electricity. EV “pumps” should only dispatch clean alternate-fuel electricity, in-home plugs included.
I was a government fleet manager for 30 years. One of the reasons I got out of the business was due to the incredible pressure to purchase “green” vehicles, whether they penciled out or not. The amount of money that is being flushed is unbelievable.
Because they need the money for infrastructure now.
Many of them have 2 or 3 mansions that need repairs.
And private jets that need some tlc.
So sick of the whole legislating by executive order crap. Go through Congress like you’re supposed to do!
I understand the original intent of Executive Orders. The occupant of the White House is in charge of the administration of the Executive Branch. What I don’t understand is the boundary of when those Executive Orders extent beyond simple administration. For example, the Executive Branch can only spend money that the Legislative Branch grants to it. This specific EO will require a massive budget that, to my knowledge, has not been appropriated. So how can it really be an Executive Order since it cannot be acted upon by the Executive Branch unless and until the Legislative Branch appropriates money for it?
And if they somehow can’t get it done, they’ll all be about suing each other, and only the lawyers will profit.
good point
someone should ask biden/psaki what is being done to make AF1 emission free
Did the government, in the early 1900s, ever issue a mandate for people to stop using horses and start using automobiles?
The solar and wind powered main battle tanks will be so...useless.
