Lindy Blanchard, a nonprofit director, former ambassador and major financial supporter of former President Donald Trump, entered the gubernatorial race on Tuesday, hitting traditional Alabama Republican issues while sprinkling in the former president's name.
In a 10-minute speech in downtown Wetumpka, Blanchard — who went by Lynda during her Senate campaign — said she would oppose federal COVID vaccination plans and accused Republicans in charge of state government of being out of touch with Alabamians.
"I will stand up for our rights, against not just the liberal left, but the go-along, get-along so-called conservatives who have run things in Montgomery way too long," she said.

This is my problem with Kay Ivey and pretty much the entire incumbent legislature:
“The swift legislative approval was a political victory for Ivey, who called lawmakers into special session to consider the tax increase, and for Republican legislative leaders who also threw their support behind the bill.
The 10-cent-a-gallon gas tax increase will be phased in over three years, beginning with an increase of six cents later this year.”
I don’t vote for republicans to have my taxes raised.

I used to work for that sniveling lying rat, so I know where a lot of those skeletons are hiding in his closet.
Kay Ivey lost me when she made her little speech comparing:
“Normal People”
and
“Unvaccinated People”
Ivey was coercing people to get vaccinated and shaming people who didn’t.

There are three characters I’d watch in this race (Blanchard, Ivey, and Tim James). I don’t want to insult James too much (son of Fob James) but he’s run before and just not done much to attract voters. He might be able to get 15-percent of the voters, and keep Ivey and Blanchard at 40-percent each.
This will go off to a primary run-off, where I think Trump’s visits to the states will matter....derailing Ivey...helping Blanchard and probably Mo (his race for Senator). If Trump weren’t in the situation...Ivey might just say little to nothing and go campaign-lite.
