DENVER (AP) — A state audit has found that Colorado likely or potentially paid $73.1 million in fraudulent unemployment claims during the coronavirus pandemic’s first year, including $3.9 million on behalf of dead people and $5 million on behalf of people who were unqualified because they were incarcerated.
The Office of the State Auditor report released Monday cited a nationwide surge in criminal identity theft used to seek federal and state pandemic unemployment aid as an underlying factor in payments in the names of dead and incarcerated people. It also cited pressure to expedite federal Pandemic Unemployment Assistance, a federal loosening of restrictions in disbursement, and inadequate state quality controls to capture the cascade of fraudulent claims.

Same with Commiefornia..people got money who didnt even live here, dead people got money, 160 yr olds got money, 5 yr olds got money..now EDD is telling everyone who got PUA(Including myself) to prove that we were employed in 2019-2020 so already gave them my entire 2019 tax return and 1099 to prove it..at the time, anyone could get PUA they never checked, people signed up and automatically got the money, now they are going back to verify everyone who got it really qualified for it
Colorado has become so “wook” they are probably all applauding their corrupt state government for their gross incompetence.
