The best Indian CEOs don’t care about your nationality. They care about your productivity.
Right now I am managed by an Indian lady. She loves my initiative, my take-ownership attitude, and the results I produce.
No Indian will replace me. In fact, I’m heading towards a promotion to Systems Architect.
I have one East Indian boss who is excellent. One of the best I’ve ever had. The rest of the EI’s that have been brought in ghost meetings, abuse employees, and are experiencing a mass exodus to other companies or departments.
Oh, and they spent no time bringing in Tata Consulting, who cocked things up even worse than Deloitte’s EI’s did.
Nobody wants to talk about how racist EIs are - I’m seeing it at work all the time.
I think this pendulum toward hiring EIs to run things has swung as far forward as it is going to. Women running things too.
However, I have another client where there are zero competent white men anywhere, and all of the competent ones are white women with zero confidence in their ability to lead (and zero appetite for leading too).
It’s an interesting time.
Congratulations, is that similar to a Cloud Architect?
Congratulations on your upcoming promotion.
My best department chair was a master mariner (ship’s captain) from India. He was part of the search committee that hired me and we worked together as colleagues for almost 18 years. He left for a better position and two successors knew nothing about our industry and they were white!
Laz’ll dazzle. If you give him half a chance.
“I’m heading towards a promotion to Systems Architect.”
When they converted me to Faculty, I lost that title and just became an Applications Analyst.
