I have one East Indian boss who is excellent. One of the best I’ve ever had. The rest of the EI’s that have been brought in ghost meetings, abuse employees, and are experiencing a mass exodus to other companies or departments.
Oh, and they spent no time bringing in Tata Consulting, who cocked things up even worse than Deloitte’s EI’s did.
Nobody wants to talk about how racist EIs are - I’m seeing it at work all the time.
I think this pendulum toward hiring EIs to run things has swung as far forward as it is going to. Women running things too.
However, I have another client where there are zero competent white men anywhere, and all of the competent ones are white women with zero confidence in their ability to lead (and zero appetite for leading too).
It’s an interesting time.
Wow! Except for that one good boss, sounds like you were in the midst of a lot of nonsense!
Tata is a mess. Pyramid really pissed me off, too, I won’t work with them. Deloitte CAN be good, I’ve seen them succeed.
In general, I find that if an American leads the offshores (and onshores) it can succeed wildly, if that American has experience leading these kind of teams. I am developing that skill... I am getting through the cultural differences. It’s working.
“Oh, and they spent no time bringing in Tata Consulting, who cocked things up even worse than Deloitte’s EI’s did.”
I’m convinced the word Tata is Hindi for “Make This Worse”
