Bob Dole has died at 98.
FOXNews is spending a lot of time waxing on and on about how Dole ‘worked across the aisle’ and Biden visited Dole a few months back in the hospital... and here’s some Democrats talking about how Dole “liked to ‘get things done” - for Republicans AND democrats...
Really insulting and a slap in the face to the memory of a man who ran the Republican Party for years.
Neither Romney nor McCain would qualify to shine Dole’s boots. He was head and shoulders above them.
By chance I saw him in 2016 in a wheelchair at some ceremony at the WWII memorial in DC. It was a cold day in November and I was just doing a routine walk of the four mile Mall circuit. Didn’t see him speak, but watched a couple of speakers, took some pics and moved on.
RIP Bob Dole
Yep. I met his wife during that time when she was campaigning for him.
I stand corrected. Thanks.
Less than 30 minutes.
Well, whatcha waitin' fer?
My sentiments exactly. Never had a darned thing against Dole, other than “he just seemed to by too genteel for politics, so I voted for Perot. Perot seemed a little crazy, but he did have some starch in his spine.
I’ll probably go tomorrow. It’s not like he’s going to miss me. Haha
Perot! That’s it.
I kept thinking all day what about Bob Dole was unusual when he ran for president.
That’s right. I voted for Ross Perot and for pretty much the same reason you do.
For if Dole’s picture isn’t under the word Republican in the dictionary than there is no such thing.
He was a nice enough guy, but boring.
Ross Perot was the Donald Trump of his day.
May Bob Dole rest in peace, however.
He was a good American and served his country.
Well Said
RIP Bob Dole. A war hero and a good man.
that we will never know ...
That wath thurely the pithiest comment on the thread!
gw-ington seriously frowns upon people talking about themselves in the third person because gw-ington believes it's just wrong. -- gw-ington
Senator Bob Dole was a good man, wish there were more people like him. Our sympathy goes to his lovely accomplished wife, Elizabeth Dole. RIP Bob Dole.
RIP.
I met him in Miami Beach in 1972

My wife met him outside the Willard Hotel in DC about 10 years later and said he couldn’t have been more gracious. She thought he was better looking in person, too :)
No, his widow, Elizabeth Dole did.
