It hungers for bureaucrats.

We must start throwing them into volcanoes to appease the magma.

The more senior the better.

Yes, I’m guilty, too🙂!
But seriously, we are having fun at their misfortune. I can’t help but feel sympathy for the people living there. Where can they go, but move off the island, if they could afford to?

"Well the Earth is on the move as more and more volcanoes are erupting around the World along with Earthquakes...been a rash of small quakes in the Midwest as of late."

Volcanic and tectonic activity for whatever reasons increase when the sunspot cycle is weak as it is now.

The largest earthquakes in historic times in the continental USA during historic times were the New Madrid quakes of 1811 and 1812 during the Dalton Minimum. The largest volcanic eruption of historic times, Tambora in 1815, also occurred during the Dalton Minimum.

The larger point is that the forces of nature are titanic and utterly dwarf us. It's the height of stupidity to think we can somehow change or control them like climate or weather.

Wanna know if the planet’s all right? Ask those people in Mexico City or Armenia or a hundred other places buried under thousands of tons of earthquake rubble if they feel like a threat to the planet this week. How about those people in Kilauea, Hawaii who build their homes right next to an active volcano and then wonder why they have lava in the living room?

It does appear that it will be a long time before people will be able to live there again. The Earth can be a tough home…even in a seeming paradise.

The current eruption could surpass the Tehuya volcano that spewed lava and ash for 84 days in 1646.
Thanks blam.

Downwind of Mt. St. Helens was FOREST!!!

The nearest populated areas only had several INCHES of ash.

There were no populated areas buried like those in this photo.

Prove me wrong.
