Practically speaking, a disease that killed the most vulnerable would have helped China greatly, as China doesn’t support their elderly, insane or disabled, leaving that expense to the kids. So offing the infirm theoretically would have freed up income that adult kids could use to have more little chinese critters. And, with the median age around 26-30 in most of eastern asia and africa, not many younger casualties would be expected in their immediate sphere of influence. Unfortunately for the rest of the world, the chinese became enamoured with science and possibilities in less than a generation, but like teenagers with a hotrod, mentally still have the sense of caution and responsibility of a 4yo making mudpies in a landfill.
