The fugitive parents of accused Michigan school shooter Ethan Crumbley broke down in court Saturday morning as their charges were read aloud.
James, 45, and Jennifer, 43, Crumbley were captured early Saturday in the basement of a building on the 1100 block of Bellevue Street in Detroit, less than half a mile from the Canadian border, police confirmed.
They were taken into custody after leading authorities on a large-scale manhunt.

what is the school suppose to do if the parents refuse to take their kids home like it was reported? you can’t expel a kid for just a drawing.
Good advice. But there are things that we can do to mimimize the likelihood that the government will make an example of us. Don't post on Social Media that is controlled by Big Tech.
No one cares that we post here on FR. But if we are big enough and we are making waves, you will see that things may begin to change. Look at what happened to Parler after January 6th.
Derek Chauvin was a dumb@$$ cop with a power trip. I do not agree with the murder verdict. But definitely he should be charged for manslaughter with up to 10 years in prison.
And we know there are certain no-go zones. Portland. Washington, D.C. Avoid them, we'll be fine.
Oh, and don't join up with the Proud Boys. They've been infiltrated by the FBI.
Ah, that makes sense now. Thanks.
Compare with the alec baldwin case, where the guy seems to be getting away with not accepting responsibility for his actions.
Lol
What u see here is what u see almost every sensational circumstance here
Prosecutor is going to overreach with the current charges.
Yes, that makes sense. No way he should have been sent back to school before mental health experts and police evaluated things. And as usual, you have to go to a British news source to get better details on what happened.
Best post on thread so far
” you can’t expel a kid for just a drawing.”
They can, and didn’t.
It was in the power of school admin to not allow the kid to return if they perceived a threat...even over parental objection.
I introduced my girls to firearms at the age of 8. I’d explain it to them, their dangers, safety etc. much to my ex wife’s chagrin. Over time I’d keep my pistol completely unloaded on the coffee table in front of me while we were watching television. It took the mystery and mystique away from “what’s that he’s hiding in his room” to it being very open. I’d continue teaching them firearms and respecting them. Over the years the unloaded became loaded. They’d see it and it at that time became as common as the television remote. Not once did they ever pay attention to it or even attempt to touch it. The curiosity was completely gone. When my oldest turned 18 she asked if Dad would take her to a shooting range. Dad happily did so and she’s been responsibly in love with firearms ever since. Needless to say the ex became very supportive.
“”Somethings wrong that just three hours before the shooting the parents refused to remove their son from the school with plenty of evidence there was a serious problem with him.””
Was this over him looking at ammo online?
Hell at his age I was looking at ammo and guns in every magazine I could get my hands on. I loved going to the barber shop so I could read the Outdoor Life, Field and Stream and Sports Afield mag’s in the rack. I was buying ammo at that age.
The problem goes much deeper than just an interest in guns and ammo and I can assure you there’s a whole bunch of folks knew about it.
Trials by the media and the public is a very bad habit with Democrat state prosecutors, especially if they think they can skewer a conservative
2022- First they came for you, then they came for your guns.
... but we will get in trouble IF a weapon is not stored right and a crime is committed with it.
Not properly securing and storing their firearms is somewhat negligent, no matter what rules or regulations exist. Or don’t exist for that matter. Insecure storage is negligence.
Maybe the don’t do it was regarding the kid not killing himself and not the murders.
So nobody, not the counselor, the admin, or the parents thought they should check the backpack?
Yeah, the warning signs were not missed. They were ignored.
“Insecure storage is negligence.”
So, the 10s of millions of weapons stored in closets and drawers around MI and other states is prima facie negligence?
Criminal negligence?
If you have children in the home, you are not entitled to self defense?
For over 200 years in America that was never the case. Are you advocating that be changed?
Don’t you just love how the news and social media pulls stuff out their backsides and runs with it.
Ah, now we see mama’s warning about ‘learn not to get caught’ was about him researching gun ammo at school. Researching at school being the operative point. That shines a whole new light on it rather than leading viewers to believe she told him don’t get caught shooting up the school.
This is more of the manipulation and outright lies that caused so many to believe Rittenhouse had killed 3 blacks.
“Yeah, the warning signs were not missed. They were ignored.”
They were not missed but I don’t agree in the ignored part. From what past school shooting tell us is many knew the shooter had problems they just didn’t talk about it. Parents, Teachers, Admins, Doctors, and the list goes on. If we go after the parents we have to go after everybody involved. There are no Sacred Cow’s. Some of the med’s they have kid’s on today are ticking time bombs.
