WATSONVILLE, Calif. — On Jan. 28, tens of thousands of Central Coast residents could lose easy health care access if the Watsonville Community Hospital closes. If the hospital closes it would create all kinds of problems with patient care, jobs and emergency care.

Watsonville is a small city on the Central Coast of California. At Watsonville Community Hospital 85% of the births are covered through MediCal which is California's version of MediCaid. Many other births have no coverage at all as the parents have very recently crossed the border illegally. Many of the adult patients are covered by MediCal or charity. This is a look into the future of California and the USA. Open the borders and your local institutions suffer.

Watsonville Community Hospital isn’t the ER, hospital or urgent care center to close in California due to being overwhelmed with non-paying illegals.

I live in Southern California and had to take my daughter to an urgent care center for a clearance to return to school. This is a very affluent area - but the urgent care center was full to bursting with what appeared to be destitute illegals, so many they were sitting outside on the stairs. Took a long time for us to be seen.

Drove past a few weeks later and the urgent care center was closed.

This is happening up and down the state.

I have often said that all we need to do is Refinance the cost of Illegal Immigration. My first step would be to Assess the Incomes of ALL Publi8c Employee’s to PAY for ALL Emergency Medical Services in the State administered to any Person without an E-Verified Social Security Number. NO Validated Social Security number using E-Verify, the Public Employee’s PAY THE BILL!

The Garlic growing capital of CA (and really the US). The problem is the “free” payor of MediCal (it’s “free” to the undocumented who contribute nothing to the income stream of the “plan”. Thus bleeding the CA taxpayers to do this “good”).

Newsome and the dem machine at work. People who should NOT be here, making anchor babies.

Open the borders and ALL of your institutions suffer.

I am as compassionate as anyone, empathy for those less fortunate yet willing to work, but classic problems wherever everything is free, eventually you run out of money, and no one survives.
In nature, if you don’t graze, or don’t hunt, or don’t move, you don’t survive.

This has been happening to hospitals and clinics in California and the South West for many years. They just can’t afford to operate.

I gave up on emergency rooms of hospitals. Unless you are so bad that they take you right away!
The problem is that the emergency rooms have to take everybody, regardless of the ability to pay.
So tons of people without emergency go there for routine health care.
And, if you have the ability to pay, you get charged arm and leg!

That would be Gilroy.

Watsonville is best known as the birthplace of the most amazing and incredible man to walk the face of the earth. Bagster himself. And strawberries.

Took my wife to the Watsonville Community Hospital one Saturday at midnight for a nose bleed that would not stop. While at the emergency waiting room watching TV in Spanish a woman from the hospital came out to talk to me. I thought she was going to give me an update on my wife. She wanted the $250 emergency room deductible for my health insurance coverage. I was the only one in the waiting room she asked.

Watsonville is also (almost) home to KPIG (107.5FM, kpig.com —— https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KUP5rwVNJko&list=PL9WzOwS3-W_iqg7xLpfEQehJgmvv_hzGF)

KPIG is today’s the chief successor of the world’s once-greatest radio station (ex- KFAT 94.5FM Gilroy, California

but I do sorta like artichokes, too

that’s right Watsonville is strawberrys, with a festival in Santa Cruz. gilroy for garlic. went through both towns once and to the large garlic festival on way to Chowchilla (long ago).

MediCal providing for illegals which Newsom allows in— Santa Cruz is pretty whacko if irc. CA is such a beautiful state to have such idiotic leftist whacks— right up the road in SanFranNantzi’s house of cards. thinking the trip there was in the days of S.I. Hayakawa (a brilliant linguist and conservative).

Watsonville is a colony of Mexico. This hospital mainly serves uninsured illegals working the farms. I use to live there. Beautiful part of the state with Moss landing, Santa Cruz to the north, and Monterey to the south. Mexico should reimburse that hospital.

KFAT ... I miss the FATgrams. From FREEDOM, CA (by Santa Cruz). They had the largest collection of songs, especially blues, of any commercial radio station. If you listened to them during the day, at some point it hit you ... I heard this song earlier, didn't I ... then you realize they played an original version from the 30's, a version from the 50's, ... ... and the Free Mexican Air force is flying tonite!!!!

Medicaid offers a free ride in an ambulance and it is the quickest way to be seen. My sister spent 8 hours in an ER for a cold.

There are secrets to getting bumped up in a hospital

Indeed! I have a box full of KFAT air tapes which I listen to from time to time. Can’t receive KPIG and they charge for internet listening so it is not playing here now. Sure do miss it, though

Close it down, these hospitals are needlessly putting non-vaccinated patients on respirators knowing that it will result in a death.
