Exactly. Too many Freepers have been trying to excuse or deny Russia’s military buildup as propaganda and now Moscow exposes these people as the tools they are.
The Russian claim for self defense is nonsense. As if Ukraine would attack Russia. Preposterous.
One of my favorite Tucker Carlson recent hits came when some Republican Congressman appeared to talk about how he and colleagues had sent a letter to Biden about military assitance to Ukraine.
He clearly expected Carlson would be congratulatory about that idea, and it was hilarious to see his growing frustration when that didn't take place. He never answered the question: "Why is this in our National interests?"

Look, once again, people are missing the point -- Putin is trying to cash in on 70 years of Communists seeding Warsaw Pact states with White Russian emigres.

According to this article, Russia is expelling just some U.S. embassy staff, and it’s in retaliation for an earlier expulsion of Russian staff by the U.S.

Foreign Ministry officials on Wednesday indicated that the decision to remove the U.S. Embassy staff was in retaliation for Washington’s expulsion of more than 50 Russian diplomats by June 30, in line with previously imposed term limits.
“I would like to emphasize that the choice is not ours,” Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said Wednesday. “Our American partners have forced us to play that way. We have long and persistently tried to reason with them and still direct them to some kind of constructive solution to the issue, but they made their choice.”
