Students at the University of Massachusetts Amherst will be required to receive a COVID-19 booster shot ahead of the spring semester, or obtain a medical or religious exemption, the school said Wednesday.
The rule is similar to the university’s requirement that nearly all students be vaccinated against COVID to be enrolled for the fall semester. Only a few hundred students received exemptions for medical or religious reasons.

UMass will require students to be tested between 10 and 14 days before the beginning of the spring semester, administrators said. The university will also continue a policy requiring face coverings indoors to start the semester.
“I am truly grateful to each and every one of you for the part you have played in helping to make this past semester a success,” Chancellor Kumble Subbaswamy said in an email to students. “Your cooperation, understanding and adherence to campus public health protocols have played a big part in ensuring the health and safety of the entire campus community.”

So they are jabbed, boosted and UMass will still require a test and masks indoors. Sounds to me like UMass doesn't trust the jab for their 97%+ jabbed campus.

Same here. The students are at essentially zero risk for Covid unless they have some pre-existing serious condition, in which case they should take their own precautions. However, university administrators have turned into the dictators they’ve always wanted to be in treat every single student I campus like they are are a walking plague and in one mistake by then will kill off half the campus.
If I were in college at this time, I will be the biggest pain in the ass to the administration Annie at least weekly basis in every way possible.
College students wouldn’t have put up with this crap in the 1960’s.
That will be a recruiting plus for colleges that can advertise no vax or masks required.
How dare you question the science! You are completely safe outside inches apart yelling and screaming at the football game, but sitting several feet apart in a classroom will kill everybody if you don’t I’ll wear a mask. Don’t you know, Covid give us a true so we can return the football game.

Me too.
It really is amazing that despite in nearly 100% vaccination rate on said campus nothing has changed from the “dark days“ of the pandemic when there were no vaccines available. Everyone wearing masks indoors, getting tested just to be able to go inside, etc.
Now, they all took the vaccine on the promise of Getting back to normal, but nothing has changed.
When are the professors mandated to be vaccinated by?
Why would any man attend UMass to be turned into a grovelling weenie?
