Agree. When I was 14 I was hauling and stacking bales of hay in the July Texas sun... quarter a bale. Didn’t get to tan on a Caribbean beach because I wanted to run away from home.
It wasn’t unusual for some of my friends in the 80s to be 15 and dating a guy around 23. Now it’s a different time. I dated someone 18 when I was 15. Boys at the same age were too immature.
What went on here was nefarious with underage teens. “Lolita Express” says it all. I read the book and Humbert Humbert thought anything past 12 years of age was too old.
