I live in MA. Baker would NEVER get through a republican primary (September of next year) and since the head of the party here is a Trump backer (despite Charlie’s machinations), he wouldn’t have gotten support at the convention either (August next year).
He briefly considered running as an independent. But the democrats here would naturally vote for the democrat and not him.
So he was doomed.

On the ID, Faker did a retreat here too - instead of a jab passport, towns/cities can do what they please. This effectively means it will happen in Boston with the new mayor, Wu.
Baker also retreated on the TCI gas tax, pulling out of that political mess.

Any one that I’m pinging now has a better chance of winning than Geoff Diehl does. He’s been approved by The Don and that’s the kiss of death here. That’s reality.
At this point, I want Marty Walsh to come back and run. He’s better than Commissar Healy.
I just don’t see any Republican that can win. Thats why Polito isn’t running because she knows she can’t.
That’s why I’m looking at a not 1,000,000% statist RAT. Walsh +/- will be bad; Healy will be Stalin-level evil.
