Americans have started factoring a state's political ideology into their decision to move as the nation grows increasingly polarized.
A survey from Redfin, a real-estate brokerage firm based in Seattle, predicted more people would vote with their feet in 2022, moving to states that align with their political beliefs about abortion, civil rights, mask and vaccine mandates and critical race theory.

We in the South welcome like-minded blue state refugees with open arms.
But don’t come down here trying to make here like what you left there.
The blue states are the ones losing population.
Ah, but here’s the problem. Over time, red states are turning reliably blue. But blue states aren’t turning reliably red.
As CCR said, “I see the bad moon rising. I see trouble on the way.”
I have no plans to turn my new state of Florida into Maryland. I left that all behind, Sir.
I think it is a quality of life issue. Depending on what the person is looking for, those qualities are more likely to be found a “more blue” or “more red” state.
As we say in Florida, DON’T NEW YORK MY FLORIDA.....and we mean it...
People are moving from states where it has become miserable and oppressive to live to states where it isn’t. Yet.
This is very encouraging for the south and conservatives. It’s up to the south and heartland to save this country.
The politics hits the kitchen ... I know a family that moved in order to avoid a state health care worker vax mandate. Moved to a state that didn’t have that.
There are many states I won’t live in due to nutty self defense laws, another politically-driven reality.
None of this location selection due to politics is new, and even the so-called “red” states have more than a fair share of control freaks in the governments.
Yep, I’m doing it.
I don’t begrudge anyone moving where they’re happier, but it’s hard not to see this trend eventually leading to some kind of national divorce.
“And Leon’s getting Laaaarger!”
If you read the article, it says people are moving to where their political Ideology and values are aligned. And that’s a good thing.
If I weren’t married, I would leave this blue state in a minute. And I wouldn’t be carrying one iota of the crap I see here, I can assure you.
As it stands, my wife is not inclined to leave, which means I won’t be leaving either. If she goes before me...I’m gone. If I go before her, well, I hope I will be where I want to go anyway.
Where she goes, I must go. A vow is a vow.
I don’t think your assumption is correct at least not in Florida, for the first time in Florida History, Republicans outnumber Democrats in Registered Voters......
I agree that Red States are getting more red and the reverse is happening in Blue States...
The Debbie Downers are always present on this forum. Even with a positive article like this.
LOL
I’m disagreeing with the article. If you read my post.
Yup it’s called federalism and it’s what the founders intended.
