Time to start learning to live off the grid, folks, or just be less dependent on the grid. I know I love my wood burning stove and I am surrounded by trees. But I will admit, while I could cut them down and quarter them with hand tools, gas powered motors certainly make it easier.
You’d think with the energy infrastructures already in place, energy costs would get less expensive over the years as infrastructures would simply expand and improve, become efficient etc.
But it always keeps going up. And up and up where for many people it becomes a luxury. Very odd.

So if last year’s heating bill was $1,000, it will be $1,500 this year. Could be trouble for other sectors like retail sales as increased food and energy costs will siphon off much of any family’s budget leaving little discretionary income.

It pays for the retirement fund for gov’t employees as most of the taxes are now for.
